Sunday Family Dinner

Sunday Family Dinner with Jay Michael from Bravo

When I lost my father several years ago, I thought it would be a good idea to make Sunday Dinner a time for our family to get together and enjoy each other’s company weekly. Although I started this tradition for our small immediate family, it has expanded & evolved greatly through the years. Friends often make cameos, current significant others stake their territory (sometimes even X’s), grandkids pop in for a free dinner & some loving, and most importantly — the tradition has sparked many others we know to do the same. That’s the part my family loves most. To us, family is anyone you wish to break bread with on a Sunday…blood relation not necessary, but good food & great company is a must!

One of our Sunday staples is RJ Grunts. We love the fact that it’s a true Chicago original, but also we feel a part of their family. Dori has been our server (and family) since our first visit; too many years ago to even mention. We plan to keep it that way.
